What counts as a celebration
Every shoutout Cake Day posts in Slack — whether it’s a birthday or a work anniversary — uses one credit from your annual cap. The cap counts posts sent, not people on your roster. Roster size is unlimited on all plans. When the cap resets
Your annual cap resets on the anniversary of your workspace’s install date, not on January 1. For example, if you installed Cake Day on March 10, your cap resets each March 10. You can see the exact reset date in the/cakeday usage output or on the Billing page.
There is no way to roll over unused credits to the next period.
What happens when you approach or hit the cap
- At 80% usage — all admins receive a Slack DM warning with your current usage and reset date.
- At 100% (cap reached) — Cake Day skips any celebration that would exceed the cap and sends all admins a DM identifying which celebration was skipped.
Free plan specifics
The Free plan includes 30 celebrations per year — enough for a small team. There is no way to purchase additional credits on the Free plan; upgrade to Starter or higher to raise the cap.Checking your current usage
